to the public.
- National Society of
Genetic Counselors
This page of
the NSGC site has been developed to assist consumers in locating
genetic counseling services and for students curious about the
profession. Genetic Counselors are listed by state and city.
- Center for
the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction (CERHR)
The NTP and
NIEHS recently established this web site. The CERHR web site
is a useful resource for the latest information about potentially
hazardous effects of chemicals on human reproduction and development.
- Thalidomide Victims Association
of Canada (TVAC)
A non-profit,
charitable organisation that was formed in order to provide
peer support and advocacy for Canadian Thalidomiders. Also contains
the history and recent information about thalidomide, one of
the world's most notorious teratogens.
- Motherisk
The
web site of The Motherisk Program at the Hospital for Sick Children
in Toronto, built in collaboration with the Society of Obstetricians
and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC). Highlights important findings
in maternal-fetal health, treatment and care, and presents findings
in maternal-fetal toxicology.
- The Fetal Centre
at The Hospital for Sick Children
The goal of
The Fetal Centre is to improve collaboration and communication
among obstetricians, perinatologists, radiologists, geneticists,
nurses, neonatologists, paediatric sub-specialists and surgeons
in high-risk perinatal centres and community physicians. By
improving the interaction between antenatal and postnatal specialists,
prospective parents who face a high-risk pregnancy or the possibility
of a child with a birth defect will receive better care.
- National Center for Education
in Maternal and Child Health (NCEMCH)
NCEMCH is dedicated to improving the health of children and families
through national leadership in three key areas: state-of-the-art
knowledge, program development, and policy analysis and education.
- National Information Center
for Children and Youth with Disabilities (NICHCY)
NICHCY provides information on disabilities and disability-related
issues for families, educators, and other professionals. The
focus is on children and youth from birth to age 22.
- Organization of Teratology
Information Specialists (OTIS)
The
OTIS web site provides information about prescriptive and non-prescriptive
drugs, street drugs, alcohol, chemicals, infectious diseases
and any other physical agents which may be harmful to an unborn
child. OTIS also provides a state-by-state listing of Teratology
Information Services, which are comprehensive and multidisciplinary
resources for medical consultation on prenatal exposures.

University of California, Davis, Oregon State University, Michigan

relevant to extension toxicology, and facilitate the exchange
